Have a ton of lip colours but don’t know when to use what? Here’s some suggestion of what you can use for a certain occasion or for a certain look you will like to rock:
For a sweet romantic date:
Pink might be the colour you are looking for if you are going for your date. A sweet light pink can enhance your femininity while hot pink can add a tinge of playfulness.
For an interview:
For an interview, there can be two looks you want to go for. If you want to look more mature or professional, try wearing a classic red lip colour. Rocking a red lip will not go wrong if you want to look more serious. Otherwise, you can try a nude lip colour for a clean cut look. By looking clean and neat, you seems more ready for any role you are about to take on.
Hitting the club:
There is no better time for you to rock a dark shade burgundy. Rock that maroon colour to show your personality and go wild under the lights.
Under the sun, a coral or orange lip colour can be a good choice to showcase the outgoing side of yours. Orange can give you a flush of healthiness and freshness under the sun.
If you have a rather dark skin tone, avoid using dark orange lip colour as it will make you look even more tan and it is definitely not the healthy kind of tan.
If you have very fair skin tone and love nude lipsticks, choose a pink base nude lipstick to avoid looking sick and frail.
If you want to use burgundy or dark lip colour in the day, use a brown eye liner instead of black to soften up the look.
Hope these tips are useful for you in selecting your lip colour!
I am only a student so of course I won’t be able to afford one whole drawer of lipsticks like what you see of beauty bloggers and Youtubers. Thus, to get a variety of different looks, you can try different ways of wearing the same lipstick rather than buying a whole load of lip products. You can even try mixing colours to get your own unique colours. Here are some ways you can try to wear your favourite lip product:
- Bold lips
Simply glide the colour all over your lips and use a lip brush to apply the colour along the lip line. Otherwise, you can use a lip liner of the same colour to draw along your lip line. This will give you a very defined lips.
2. Gradient lips
Apply concealer on your outer lips and apply the lip colour on you inner lips.Rub out the colour from the inner to the outer part of your lips to get a gradient effect.
3. Soft, feminine lips
Apply the lip colour all over your lips. Use a clean lip brush or a Q tip to rub along your entire lip line. This will soften the edges to give a soft, feminine look.
4. Natural lips
Apply the lipstick on a sponge then dab the sponge all over your lips. This will lower the intensity of the colour to give a more natural look.
5. Dimensional lips
Create an ‘O’ shape with your lips and dab the lip colour on. This way, it gives your lips a bit more dimension without being too harsh.
With just one lipstick, you can create a different look throughout the week. This will probably help you save a bit of money since you don’t have to get so many lip products out there.

Recently, I bought two liquid lipsticks and I got to say I love it. For those who have not try liquid lipstick, go give it a try!
What I love about liquid lipstick is the matte finish. Personally, I really dislike the glossy finish because it looks like there is a thick layer of oil on your lips and it looks gross to me. This is why I prefer the matte finish, a really clean look. Liquid lipstick gives a matte finish without drying out your lips, which is really good because I have dry lips.
I also love the pigmentation of liquid lipstick. It is highly pigmented like your regular lipstick, giving a very clear colour and bold finish. If you love something really bold, then liquid lipstick will be the product you are looking for rather than lip tint.
However, I feel that liquid lipstick is more difficult to apply than your regular lipstick and lip tint. for your regular lipstick, it glides on smoothly and you don’t have to be afraid of getting too much product on your lips because you can manage the amount easily. For lip tint, even if you were to put too much product on your lips, the colour will still turn out fine. For liquid lipstick, it feels very clumpy if you put on too much product and it is more difficult to control the amount of product on the applicator. Thus, it may require a bit more effort to use liquid lipstick.
The thing is, when you take out the applicator, it is good to rub the applicator on the side of the bottle to remove the excess product. Also, moisturise your lips before using a liquid lipstick. Because of the matte finish, the fine lines of your lips can be seen very clearly if your lips is too dry.
So here’s my take on liquid lipstick. It is currently my favourite lip product!

Every woman crave to have plump and beautiful lips so that she can rock any lip colour. But in reality, getting chapped lips is more common than getting plump lips for many girls out there, especially when you sit in an air-conditioned room for long hours. Getting beautiful lips is not as difficult as it seems, and it doesn’t cost much as well. Here are a few tips you can follow to rock any lip colour out there:
One: Hydrate your lips
Whether it’s your skin or lips, hydration is essential. Keeping a lip balm in your purse and apply it every few hours can save your lips in the long way. If you are consistent, you can save that few dollars on buying a lip mask every now and then.
Two: Exfoliate your lips
To exfoliate, you don’t need any costly exfoliating product. Simply apply a thick layer of lip balm before you go to bed and rub your lips with water in the morning. You would get the thrill of seeing your dead skin come off!
Before starting on your make up, apply a thin layer of lip balm. Move to your make up and by the time your reach out for your lip colour, your lips will be plump and hydrated!
Whether it is about getting great skin or beautiful lips, consistency is key. Be consistent in caring for your lips and any kind of lip colour will look great in you.
